Featured Natural: Nikki

7 Jul

Nikki writes:

Hi, My name is Nikki and I have been natural since Jan 2010. I don’t think I’ll ever go back!  I try to keep my regimen pretty simple.  I shampoo w/ Out of Africa Shea butter soap once every 2 weeks and co wash in between. Acv/honey rinse as needed.  I use Desert Essence Coconut conditioner as my co wash, rinse out and deep conditioner.  Leave in of choice is Kinky Curly Knot today then I seal w/ castor oil or my shea butter mix then twist. I’m still learning and enjoying every bit of it.

Thanks, Nikki for sharing.

Product Review: Banana Rhassoul Deep Condish from Anita Grant

5 Jul

Description from the company website:

Our Rhassoul Deep  Condishes contains Unrefined Black Cocoa Butter & natural Soya based Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) which helps to  guard scalp & hair from free radical damage. When hot liquid is added to our  Rhassoul Deep Condishes, it swells & increases its surface area like a  highly porous sponge.  Attracting & trapping toxins into these open porous  spaces so that when it comes time to rinse the Rhassoul Deep Condish from your  hair the toxins are eliminated and you’re left with detoxified fluffy soft  tresses.

So instead of a Hot Oil treatment why not detoxify your scalp & hair.

5 Things I Love About the Banana Rhassoul Deep Condish:

  1. It was easy to mix following the easy directions on Anita Grant’s website
  2. Excellent ingredients including rhassoul clay, olive oil, vitamin e, and honey
  3. Left my hair extremely soft and feeling very moisturized
  4. It smells great, and it left my hair with a nice light scent (It’s banana scented and has a bit of a chocolate smell)
  5. Can be mixed with your choice of liquids and herbs

My hair has been very dry because I’ve been lazy with it recently. I hoped that this treatment could help to revive it, and it exceeded all of my expectations. Here’s what I did:

  • To mix, you need a hot liquid. I chose to mix with coconut milk. This was one of the suggestions on Anita Grant’s website, and I love coconut milk. You may recall I use it in my Henna recipe.
  • I warmed the coconut milk
  •  I added the heart and used a fork to break it up
  • I stirred until it was a mud-like consistency
  • I left the clay on for 45 minutes
  • Then I rinsed well

My hair felt great afterwards. I didn’t even need a leave-in. I’ve had my hands in my hair all day. This is great for anyone looking for a deep conditioner that gives great results. I would especially recommend it to those who are experiencing dryness. Check out Anita Grant’s website for this and other items made with high quality ingredients.

Thanks to Anita Grant for giving me the opportunity to try this product!
