Shea Moisture is Coming to a Walgreens Near You

22 Feb

Shea Moisture announced this weekend at the Bronner Brothers show that their haircare  line will be sold at Walgreens beginning April 1. They hope to be in all of the stores by Mid-May.

Shea Moisture was selected as one of the Top 10 Product Lines in my Natural Hair Report Card, so this is great news that more people will have access to it. We will have to report back in April to tell each other when we spot it.

Product Review: Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie

22 Nov

5 Things I Like:

  1. It is all natural. The ingredients include shea butter, coconut oil, aloe extract, silk protein, neem, avocado oil, carrot seed oil, honeysuckle extract, vitamin e, and an essential oil blend.
  2. It smells great!!!! You might be tempted to taste it, but don’t do it.
  3. It is inexpensive. The container is 12ozs. for $10.
  4. My hair was very soft after using it.
  5. I don’t have to purchase it online. It is sold at Target stores all around the city.

2 Things I Didn’t Like:

  1. I was a litte heavy with the application on my first use, and it made my hair look dull. It was better when I applied just a little.
  2. I thought it would be good for a wash and go, but it isn’t for me.

I will continue to use the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie as a moisturizer.  It works well for my braid-outs if I want a  bigger fluffier look, and my hair felt and smelled good. I also use it as a moisturizer when I am wearing a puff.

Product Review:Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Wash and Lotion

5 Jul

Batise writes in to tell us what she thought about her Shea Moisture Wash and Lotion:

Let me find out that Target is on the come up for “Beauty on a Budget”. I like to use natural products as often as I can, but I also want to be a recessionista. I was on one of my trips to Target and to my surprise what should I see, next to the Burt’s Bees, but Shea Moisture. I could hear the harp music and see the doves. I bought the Organic Coconut and Hibiscus shower wash and lotion. I really like it! It has a good scent, and my skin did feel moisturized. It was not a heavy, greasy lotion. It was light and creamy. I felt like I discovered a secret treasure. Give it a try you may find that you like it as well. I got both for under $20 combined.  Beauty on a Budget, you can’t beat that!
